A popular Nigerian Kano prince has not only sparked a huge controversy but has also set tongues wagging after he married two wives on the same day in a lavish Muslim wedding Fatiha ceremony. 22-year-old Mustapha Ado Bayero is the youngest son of one of Nigeria’s most prominent traditional rulers, Alhaji Abdullahi Ado Bayero. The late Emir of Kano passed on in 2014 at 83.
His last son, Mustapha, became famous when he was pictured sitting with his late father in a horse-drawn carriage during durbars in 2010. Fast forward to 12 years later, the young prince has tied the knot with two beautiful brides, Badi’a Tasiu Adam and Fatima Ibrahim Adam, at Markaz Imamu Bukhari Mosque, Rijiyar Zaki and Tsakuwa Juma’a Mosque in Kano, respectively, on Sunday, June 19th 2022.
The young Mornach’s high-class wedding ceremony had Kano’s crème de la crème in attendance. Family and friends looked happy for the well-loved prince when taking pictures during the royal wedding. However, the future emir’s wedding pictures and videos have stirred massive reactions on social media. While many pointed out that even though Islam permits men to marry more than one wife, he is too young to take on the responsibilities of two wives. Some people were enraged that the prince’s health status was likely not considered. #MustaphaAdoBayero #KanoPrinceAdoBayero #MustaphaAdoBayeroWedding
