Sylvester Oromoni’s murder has continued to spark concern to a point that the House of Representatives has finally weighed in on the matter, mandating the IGP Usman Baba, to handle the matter himself with his full resources immediately.
A member, Unyime Idem, representing Oruk Anam/Ukanafun federal constituency in Akwa Ibom. brought it to the notice of the house. The resolution of the house at the plenary on tuesday 7 December, now authorized the IGP to take over the case of the alleged torture and consequently death of Sylvester, a Dowen college student in Lagos. Unyime Idem, personally moved a motion swift attention on the tragedy.
The reps were bitter with recent dare-devil act on the late Dowen college student and abuses trending in the boarding colleges in the society.
Former governorship candidate, Natasha Akpoti pressed for close marking with camera of private boarding colleges in the country and emphasized for criminal charges to be leveled against Dowen College and the perpetrators.
