Abubakar Malami, the minister of justice and attorney-general of the federation, broke the internet on Friday, July 8 2022, after he took one of President Buhari’s daughters, Nana Hadiza as his third wife. The traditional wedding of the latest high-profile couple took place in a low-key secret Nikkai ceremony at the Presidential Villa mosque, Abuja.
It was graced only by a few members of both families. After pictures of the couple found their way to the internet space, the Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, confirmed to Punch that Malami had indeed been promoted from a member of the Buhari cabinet to his in-law. While photos of the lovely wedded couple cannot paint exact pictures of what may have led to the marriage, Nigerians on social media have their own ideas.
They think it’s either a low-key transaction of some sort or just part of President Buhari’s hurried plans to marry all his eligible children for marriage before his eight years in power are completed.
