Despite being a devout Muslim, Kashim Shettima is married to just one woman, Hajia Nana Shettima. His wife, formerly known as Nana Usman Alkali, is also a Kanuri by tribe from Borno State. Nana was born to the prestigious family of Alhaji Usman Alkali, based in Kano State, and is an English Language and Literature graduate from the University of Maiduguri. The elite couple have been married since 1998. This is no surprise as Nana has supported her husband’s political career from the get-go.
When she’s not playing supportive wife, Hajia Nana is a philanthropist, working as the CEO of the SWOT Foundation and Model Orphanage Integrated School, Maiduguri. The power couple are parents to three biological children, two daughters and a son, who seems to be doing them proud so far.
