Nollywood actress Ini Edo on March 15th 2023, did not only surprise her millions of fans with the first public pictures of her daughter, but the actress also revealed that her baby’s name is Light. In her caption, the actress expressed gratitude to God for blessing her with the “greatest gift” and her “biggest heart desire.” She gushed over her daughter, “the most precious, adorable little girl” who has brought comfort and joy to her life. Also, in an interview with BellaNaija, the actress opened up about motherhood. She revealed that being a mom has changed her life in ways she never imagined.

After several rumours, and just months before her 40th birthday, the famous actress, in December of 2021, during an interview with Journalist Stella Dimokokos, confirmed that she had welcomed a baby via surrogacy. She explained that she is genetically the biological mother of the baby because the eggs are hers. She further explained that she chose this path to fulfil her dream of becoming a mother. The Shanty Town actress said; “I still have a good number of eggs frozen in case I decide to do surrogacy again or carry my baby myself. Who knows.” When asked about the identity of her child’s father, the star actress revealed that she had opted for a donor for “peace of mind.” As you can imagine, this shocked many of her fans and Nigerians, leaving them with mixed reactions and opinions.

In the past decade, this method of having children has worked for many women and celebrities who are now proud mothers.
