Three Nollywood veteran actors have been recognized for their longevity and outstanding theater performance in the movie industry.
On March 11, 2020, Kennneth Okonkwo, Kanayo O Kanayo and Bob Manuel were conferred with the Veteran Actor of Nigeria (Van) award.
The talented veteran actors were presented with the prestigious award on Wednesday at the 9th Biennial Lecture Event organized by the Actor Guild of Nigeria.
The trio took to their respective Instagram accounts where they shared pictures of themselves from the event and expressed happiness over their latest achievement.
Taking to Instagram, Kenneth Okonkwo shared:
“On the 11th of March, it was a climax for the first actor that acted the first movie that started Nollywood, Kenneth Okonkwo as he was honored with the prestigious award of the Veteran Actor of Nigeria (VAN) by the Actors Guild of Nigeria. To God be the glory.”
Kennneth Okonkwo, Kanayo O Kanayo and Bob Manuel were stars of the original Living in Bondage movie released in 1993.
The actors have gone on to become household names in the film industry, featuring in more than 100 Nollywood films including Ramsey Nouah’s critically acclaimed directorial debut, Living in Bondage: Breaking Free.
