The late Hollywood legendary actor Kirk Douglas was widely known to be a charitable man. It is perhaps only fitting that he made the ultimate donation to charity before passing on from this world, as a recent news article published on the British Mirror has revealed.

According to the report, deceased Hollywood pioneer Kirk Douglas shared his £61 million (N28 billion) fortune to charity.

The movie veteran relinquished his fortune through the Douglas foundation, a charity organization that seeks to help those who are less privileged and cannot help themselves.

The report noted some of the beneficiaries of the deceased actor’s wealth which include St Lawrence University, where they fund a scholarship for minority and underprivileged students; Westwood’s Sinai Temple, which houses the Kirk and Anne Douglas Center; and the Culver City’s Kirk Douglas Theatre, a dilapidated movie theater restored as a live performance venue, and children’s hospital Los Angeles.

Mirror’s report ended by revealing that Kirk left nothing to his beloved son Michael Douglas, who announced the news of his death earlier this month.
