Legendary singer, Angelique Kidjo on Sunday night was awarded a Grammy for Best World Music. The Beninese singer-songwriter beat Burna Boy and a host of other artists to bag a win at the 62nd Grammy Awards, held in Staples Center, Los Angeles.
Angelique Kidjo didn’t only accept her award, during her acceptance speech, she graciously dedicated the award to Burna Boy in recognition of the hard work the Nigerian artiste put in over the last year.
Majority of Nigerians were in high hopes and believed Burna Boy has already won the award which would have been a great celebration to Nigerians. But Angelique Kidjo is a legend in the music industry and deserved the win for her amazing work of art.
