Controversial media personality Toke Makinwa has called on the Nigerian government to provide bailout funds to Nigerians after it extended the coronavirus lockdown for another two weeks.
Toke Makinwa says many Nigerians will not be able to feed from hand to mouth over the next fourteen days if the government does not intervene with relief materials.
The media girl took to her Twitter page on Monday April 13, 2020, where she reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to extend the lockdown already in place in some states of the federation.
According to her, the federal government should cushion the effects of the lockdown by paying every Nigerian at least ten thousand naira.
“Lockdown, lockdown the least you can do is credit everyone’s account, even if it’s 10k. BVN is available yet you want those who have resorted to being their own government die of hunger? 14 days more is about to bite even harder,” she tweeted.
