Popular Swedish-born actor Max Von Sydow has died at the age of 90.
Max Von Sydow, who appeared in films and TV shows including The Exorcist, Flash Gordon and Game of Thrones, died on Sunday, as confirmed by wife, Catherine Von Sydow.
Catherine released an official statement via Paris Match which states that her husband died in his home in France at the age of 90.
“It is with a broken heart and with infinite sadness that we have the extreme pain to announce the departure of Max Von Sydow on March 8, 2020,” the statement reads.
Syndow was a popular Swedish-born actor known for his Three-Eyed Raven character in HBO award-winning series, Game of Thrones.
He was nominated for two Oscars during his career – including best actor in 1988 for Pelle the Conqueror.
His other film credits included Hannah and Sister, The Seventh Seal and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
