Award winning media personality and BEFFTA founder Lady Pauline Long honoured her mother with her 57th award for her 70th birthday. This was a special award from Divas of Colour award which took place last Saturday, March 26. Below is what she had to say.
“I handed over my 57th award to my mother on stage, the most inspirational woman I know. This is her first ever award in life. over 43 years in the fashion industry, she has mentored many, she has given sewing machines to many women and men, she has educated many, fed many on top of her own 11 children”.
“Her first award had to come from her family, and this is it. On behalf of my 10 siblings, I presented my Global Leadership Award to my mother…ohhh the emotions, I was struggling to hold back the tears because my father was there, he always says “Paulina is a very strong woman” so I had to maintain that accolade”. She said.
“God bless you mama as you turn 70 this year. You have given the world more than enough, it is now your turn to be celebrated. You have taught me and many others the art of giving back and having a pure heart. I honour you! She added.
