The Nigerian High Commission UK and Nigerians in the UK welcomes the New Action High Commissioner to the UK Ambassador Olukunle Bamgbose. Endorsed by Dr Dalhatu Sarki Tafida as the preferred candidate for the Nigerian High Commission Post. The event took place on 13th of August 2015 at the UK Nigerian High Commission, London.
One of his first action as the new Acting Nigerian High Commissioner to the UK in collaboration with the Senior diplomatic officials was the renaming of the Banking Hall to Dr Dalhatu Sariki Tafida Hall , in honour of the former Nigerian High Commissioner to the UK Dr Dalhatu Sarki Tafida OFR CFR.
Before he become the Acting High Commissioner to the UK, Olukunle Akindele Bamgbose assumed duty as the Deputy High Commissioner to the United Kingdom on September 14th, 2014. In his diplomatic career, he had served in Mauritania, Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations, New York, USA and most recently Japan. Prior his appointment, he was the Director, Joint Commission, Trade and Investment Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, Nigeria. From 2012 – 2013, he was the Director North and Central America Division of the Foreign Ministry. He graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria in 1982 with a degree in Mass Communication. He also holds a diploma in International Finance from the Stilman University, New York.
His hobbies include: soccer, tennis, sumo, reading autobiographies, gospel music and movies amongst others.
