The winner of the 2019 BBNaija reality TV show, Mercy Eke, has addressed the rumours that she is having an affair with IVD, the celebrity car dealer.
Ikechukwu Darry Ogonna, who is popularly known as IVD, is the husband of Bimbo Ogbonna, who recently passed away.
The celebrity car dealer has been enmeshed in an avalanche of scandal in the wake of his wife’s death.
This is coming after blogger, Gistlover claimed Mercy Eke is one of IVD mistresses.
Reacting to the allegations in the Instagram live session on Saturday, Mercy said she only had a business relationship with IVD.
The reality star said she bought a faulty Range Rover car from IVD in September 2020, and thereafter demanded that he “gave me something equivalent to my car”.
Mercy said Bimbo was aware that the car transaction was the “only connection I have ever had with IVD”.
A teary Mercy Eke called out and shamed the blogger who circulated false and defamatory news.
“I want to clear something. And I’m only doing this for the sake of the dead, for the sake of Bimbo, that’s why am doing this,” she said in the video
“In September 2020, I wanted to celebrate my birthday, and that was the first time I heard about this man called IVD. I went to buy a car that is where I saw IVD and bought a car from this guy, but the car stopped working. I kept going from one mechanic to another mechanic “
” His wife was aware of all these things. His wife was the one that stopped me from arresting IVD. But before I went home for Christmas, I went there, I said you must give me something equivalent to my car ‘. That was when IVD gave me his Maybach and people were speculating that I bought a car and I didn’t say anything.
“He gave me that car and that was only connection I’ve ever ever had with IVD. If not for this transaction I have no business with him. You can’t be tarnishing my name, I did nothing to you, let the hate go.”
She also said, “My name has been tarnished for the longest time, this is the first and last time am going to address this. The reason I’m addressing this blatant lie is because of the late wife Mrs Bimbo. These are evidence and receipts showing that I have nothing other than business transaction with IVD!!!”.
Reporting hours after Bimbo, the wife of the celebrity car dealer, passed away.
Mama Jazz, the sister of Bimbo, had accused the Lagos-based businessman of killing her only sister Bimbo.
She announced this on her Instagram page on Saturday, October 15.
Her post read: “My hand is shaking. Bimbo is gone. Bomb is gone – My sister. The fire is burning me Haaaaaaa. IVD you killed my only sister, IVD killed my sister, IVD killed my sister.”
Abbasi, the friend of the deceased, has revealed how Bimbo had been in domestic violence and mental torture in her marriage that led to her death.
Agbaosi divulged also that Bimbo has been carrying “domestic sacrifice” for her husband IVD, to make him wealthy, which consequently led to her seeing things and having mental problems. Because of this, she was almost always in the hospital for treatment.
She continues that Bimbo decided to withdraw from the domestic ritual acts, and this led to the violence against her by her husband.
