When Mohbad married his girlfriend of ten years, traditionally not so long ago, he kept the ceremony secret and away from the public eye and the eyes of his enemies. Five months after welcoming his first child, his life was cut short. His wife Omowunmi was one of the first few who confirmed his death. In a series of posts on her Instagram page, the 24-year-old mother of one questioned how she would take care of their son alone. She shared several throwback photos of them as she cried out for help. She stated that their love story was a different one, as they fought really hard to be where they were before his passing. Omowunmi added that they had so many plans for the future.
Sadly, her cry for help has exposed her to several Backlash while others felt her pain. However, the Backlash further heightened after popular music producer Samklef took to his official Instagram page to announce that they had raised over N32 million for the late singer’s son, Liam. Some pointed out that Mohbad’s death was a planned murder of which the wife should also be interrogated.
Others, like Theverydarkman, insulated that a DNA test should be carried out on the couple’s five-month-old son. “Asking a mourning widow to submit her son for DNA is pure evil”- actress Mary Remmy and many others spoke to defend Mohbad’s wife.
