Nick Cannon has admitted that he was “heartbroken” when his ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian lied to him about the Ray J sex tape.
The comedian and actor dated Kim Kardashian between 2006 and 2007, before the infamous sex tape was leaked online in 2007.
In 2012, the “Wild N Out” host said on “The Howard Stern Show” that he and Kim broke up when Kim lied about the existence of the sex tape, which Cannon claimed Ray J had warned him about.
Then, on Revolt’s latest episode of “Drink Champs”, Nick admitted that Kim Kardashian West “broke” his heart when she lied to him about her sex tape.
Appearing on the Drinks Champ podcast this week, Nick explained: “I remember I was really into her, I was vibing… We were on some serious s***!
Cannon added that the pair spent time with each other’s families.
Nick said: “She broke my heart.
“Then, it started being these rumours going around that it was this tape. When I asked her about it, she denied it.”
Nick recalled how he first heard there was a tape: “I saw Ray J [out on Rodeo Drive]… I was holding [Kim’s] hand and, literally from across the street, he was like ‘You ain’t gonna wanna keep holding her hand soon, watch!’ And I’m thinking he’s just hating!”
Nick continued: “And I’m like wondering why he said that, and then there started to be these little rumours around that there was this tape… I think he was warning [me].”
Cannon also said that he knew about Kardashian West’s relationship with Ray J, however, he said that her lie about the tape caused tension in their relationship.
“I just knew at that time, all my team was like, ‘Abort mission,'” he added
Kim dated Nick in the period after her relationship with Ray J but before the tape was released.
“People didn’t know, they were like ‘who’s that chick with Nick? She’s bad,'” Nick added.
“And then a year later probably when the tape came out, I believe the tape was made prior to me in my mind because it looks like to people I was with her first and then a year later or whatever the tape came out.
“But I think that tape was an older tape, but it looks to the public it was Nick and then it was the tape. I believe Ray J knew her before I did.”
