The Nigerian federal government has suspended the national carrier project ‘Nigeria Air’ Nigerians were rooting a for a few months back indefinitely. The minister of state aviation, Hadi Sirika, earlier today made the announcement via Twitter.
He tweeted,
“I regret to announce that the Federal Executive Council has taken the tough decision to suspend the National Carrier Project in the interim. All commitments due will be honoured. We thank the public for the support as always.”
Nigeria Federal Government announced the airline at the Farnborough Airshow in September, with operations expected to resume December.

Nigeria Air was to be private sector-led, with the Federal Government to own not more than 5%. The tweet has also been retweeted by the Nigerian president amongst others.
