It has been confirmed that,Nigerian veteran Filmaker Amaka Igwe is dead. She died in the early hour of today Tuesday, the 29th of April 2014 on her way to hospital after a horrible Asthma attack. President of the Actor’s Guild of Nigeria, confirmed the news to Best of Nollywood. She has been in battle with Asthma for a very long time, the illness never stopped her from working. She is only 51 years of age. According to reports, she was in Enugu for pre-production of an Igbo series when the unfortunate incident occurred.
She is a great film maker as we all know and produced the popular comedy series, ‘Checkmate‘ and ‘Fuji House Of Commotion‘, and also own a Movie studio in Lagos. She has been in the Nigerian entertainment industry for over 22 years with excellent content delivery.
She leave behind 3 children and her husband Charles Igwe and her mother.
May her lovely soul rest in peace as we are going to miss her greatly.
