The official Twitter account of Nigeria’s ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC) has been hacked and taken over by unknown persons. The hacker is also making threats and demanding money.
The Name of the account has also been changed serval times with the handle @APCNigeria still the same as a verified account. One thing renamed the same, the account tweet is currently tweeting a lot about Bitcoins.
The account shared tweets around 3 PM promising to give followers 1,000 Bitcoin and 5,000 Ethereum.
The account later changed its Twitter name to Justin Sun, founder of TRON, a crypto network. It has since shared several tweets offering cryptocurrency to followers.
Philip Obin, a chairmanship candidate with the party, later confirmed that the account has been hacked, and added that efforts to recover it are ongoing. Meanwhile, the hackers are having a laugh, replying Twitter users with jokes.
