However, unconfirmed reports say the actor has been battling with an undisclosed illness.

His death would add to the list of deaths in Nollywood. Within the past four months, Nollywood has lost six of its own.

From Sisi Quadri to Mr. Ibu, Amaechi Muonagor, Andy Best, Jumoke Aderounmu, and now Junior Pope.

Africanglitz reported two weeks ago that Junior Pope had died after drowning while returning from a movie location with his colleagues in a boat at the Anam River in Anambra State.

A day before his demise, upcoming actress Jumoke Aderounmu, who was a cast member in Funke Akindele’s TV series, Jenifa Dairy, had died at the age of 40.

On March 24th, veteran actor Amaechi Muonagor, who had been battling kidney disease for almost a year, kicked the bucket.

A week before his death, Nollywood producer and marketer, Ikechukwu Nnadi, better known as Andy Best, passed away after a prolonged ailment at a private clinic in Owerri, Imo State.

In February, Yoruba actor Sisi Quadri passed away after being rushed to the hospital in his hometown of Iwo, Osun State, after suffering persistent hiccups caused by kidney-related issues.

The actor was laid to rest a day later in his hometown of Iwo, Osun State.

As Sisi Quadri was laid to rest, veteran actor Mr. Ibu gave up the ghost at Evercare Hospital. The actor, who had been battling for his life for months, kicked the bucket following a cardiac arrest.

His death threw the industry into mourning, as he was the beloved of many and had made our childhood memorable.
