The academic’s current research focuses on transnational history, particularly the link between history, collective memory and geopolitics in relation to British and French colonial pasts.
Otele tweeted:

When asked by History Today which moment in history she would most like to go back to during an interview with the publication earlier this year, Otele said: “Now is a good place for me as a scholar and a black woman.”
We say Congratulations!
