His majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, born on 17 October 1974, is the third of seven children of Prince John Oluropo Ogunwusi and Princess Margaret Wuraola Sidikatu Abegbe Ogunwusi.

On October 26th, 2015, he emerged victorious out of 21 contenders for the stool.

He was crowned as the 51st Ooni on the 7th of December 2015 at Enuwa Square, Ile-Ife. Adeyeye is from the royal House of Giesi of the Oranmiyan Dynasty.

Oba Enitan, over the years, has had a series of romances.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN OONI OF IFE AND OMOLARA OLATUBOSUN AS TEENAGERS IN 1990s.

While yet a teenager, the Ooni of Ife had a relationship with Omolara Olatubosun in the early 1990s in Ibadan, Oyo State. Although they had a daughter, Princess Adeola Ogunwusi, together in 1994, they did not get married. The Ooni was accused of taking his hands off the raising of their child by Omolara.

MARRIAGE BETWEEN THE OONI OF IFE AND ADEBUKOLA BOMBATA FROM 2008 – 2016

Ooni Adeyeye, for the first time, got married to Bombata in 2008, seven years before he succeeded the Oduduwa as Ooni of Ife. According to reports, her failure to birth a son, coupled with her scandal with Princess Adeola, was reported as part of the events causing a hitch in the couple’s marriage.

Bombata was also accused of retraining the Oba from ascending as the king as she detests attention. Sadly, in 2015 shortly after he was crowned king, the couple split up, and Bombata moved to the UK.

OONI MARRIED TO ZAYNAB OTITI OBANOR FROM EDO STATE, 2016 – 2017

Next, Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi married Zaynab Otiti Obanor, popularly known as Olori Wuraola, from Benin in Edo State in March of 2016. However, the marriage did not last long, as the queen filed for divorce in 2017. Although the cause of the divorce was not stated publicly, many suspected that this short-lived marriage was due to domestic violence.

THE KING’S MARRIAGE TO PROPHETESS MORENIKE NAOMI IN 2018

The King, in October 2018, married Prophetess Morenike Naomi Oluwaseyi, and the three-year marriage was blessed with a son, Tadenikawo on the 18th of November, 2020.

The prophetess had founded the Akure, Ondo state-based En-Heralds ministry, an interdenominational ministry that she started at age 18. Many questioned her ability to handle customary duties as the Ooni’s wife in defending Yoruba cultures and traditions, given that she is a gospel preacher.

In December of 2021, Morenike Naomi announced their separation on Instagram, stating that she would no longer be regarded as the wife of the Ooni.

His Majesty has a picture he would love the world to see and perceive him as and another one which is his true self,” she said in her post

I, at this moment, announce that I shall no longer be referred to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as queen of Ile-Ife, but as the queen of the people and mother of my adorable prince.”

OONI ADEYEYE OGUNWUSI’S LATEST MARRIAGE TO MARIAM ANAKO

Mariam Anako, who recently turned 40, had just been married to the Ooni in September of 2022, nine months after Naomi’s exit. They Both met as she supposedly attempted to get a contract for the Oba. She was first introduced in February 2022 to the Ooni’s supporters at the conversation ceremony held at the royal palace. She got wedded to the Ooni in a private wedding ceremony attended by the members of the Yoruba royal family.

This wedding sparked curiosity as to if Queen Mariam Anako is here to stay or if will she also leave like the past queens?

At his birthday party in October 2021, he introduced Olori Ashley Afolashade to his guest as his wife.
