The funeral of popular gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu took place on Saturday, 25th June, in Isochi Umunnechi, her paternal hometown in Abia State, Nigeria, amid the tears of her children, family and close friends. Despite being a lead singer at the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, neither was her spiritual leader, Pastor Paul Enenche, the founder of Dunamis International Gospel Center nor was his wife seen at the burial. However, some pastors from Dunamis were reportedly in attendance. Osinachi’s husband, Peter Nwachukwu, was also absent at her burial.
The 50 years old father of four was arrested after his wife’s passing and is currently facing trial, even though he’s insisting she died of Lung Cancer. The 42-year-old songstress, who died on April 8, 2022, in Abuja, was not buried in her husband’s home as customs demand because there have been allegations that her demise was a result of the domestic violence and abuse she suffered from her husband, Peter Nwachukwu, during her marriage. After her burial, an Osinachi Nwachukwu Foundation was established to keep the singer’s legacy.
