The 8thannual crowning of the prestigious Miss Uganda UK pageant saw 9 finalists from around the UK battle it out to become the next Queen taking over Jancent (Jan) Mukiibi. This years grand finale that was held in North London was yet another success within the Uganda Community in the UK.
The grand finale was opened in it’s traditional style of both the Ugandan and British national anthems being sung (led by our 2017 Miss Talent Shamim Nalule) and then saw the finalists take centre stage with their 3minute opening dance to Wale Wale by Ugandan singer Jose Chameleone.
Entertainment on the night was from Ugandan songstress Iryn Namubiru who graced the stage with her soulful voice with an uplifiting performance of her old to current hits. The guest of honour on the night was Uganda High Commissioner to UK and Ireland H.E Julius Motto.
Peninah Wampamba emerged the winner on the night, Penny who was contestant number 1 was also awarded The People’s Queen Award as she had the most votes by public voting online via Pageant Vote, also awarded, Best Creative Wear & Best Evening Wear by the judges on the night. Miss Wampamba will be carrying out the official Miss Uganda UK campaign alongside Jubilee Campaign UK raising awareness against Child Sacrifice in Uganda and is now the official ambassador & face and voice of Jubilee Campaign UK. In 2nd place (1stPrincess) was contestant No.10 Lauren Ngabo who was awarded Miss Congeniality & Best Swim Wear, 3rdplace (2ndPrincess) was awarded to contestant no.4 Mary Precious Namayanja winning of the night Miss Personality, Best Ambassador and Best Catwalk.

Miss Outstanding – Mercy Onen and Divine-Joy Kusasila
Miss Inspiration (judges special award) – Daisy Kateeba
Rising Woman award – Nancy Ndibalekera (sponsored by Elevate Design Studios.)
