The reality star says he works hard than people give him credit for.

Kiddwaya, former Big Brother Naija star and billionaire son, has come out to set the record straight about his work ethic that has been the center of much debate in online social circles since his emergence in the entertainment Industry.

The ex Lockdown star in a recent interview with BBC Pidgin said he works very hard but is saddened that his hard work is constantly looked down by Nigerians due to his rich background.

Kiddwaya bemoans that his hard work is never acknowledged.

“What I face on a regular is that people don’t believe I work hard because they feel like ‘oh, it’s your dad’s connection, your dad gave it to you’. They have this misconception that everyone from a privileged background gets things handed to them easily. And to be fair, that’s not the case,” he bemoaned.

Kiddwaya’s lament is coming hot on the heels of the heavy criticism he received on social media for attributing his success to hard work and stating that it is what sets him apart from others. However,  he further urged people to shed the misconception they have concerning kids born into wealthy families.

“I feel like people completely misinterpreted what I meant,” he continued. “I feel like, in this country, a son or a daughter from a wealthy background cannot have an opinion, cannot talk, cannot eat, cannot sleep, cannot think. They are not allowed to do anything. What I was simply trying to say is hard work gets you far. It is simply for motivational purpose.”

Kiddwaya is the son of Nigerian billionaire trader Terry Waya. He was one of the housemates from the 5th edition of the Big Brother Naija reality show held in 2020.

A fan favourite known for his larger than life attitude in the house, he made it all the way to the final few weeks of the reality completion before his eviction.

Though born into affluence, the 27-year old was a relatively unknown figure to vast majority of Nigerians prior to his participation at the popular television show.
