So, a few days back, TECNO launched its new sub-brand, the PHANTOM X. To give a quick background story, The PHANTOM X is TECNO’s premium device with a 3D borderless curved screen, silk glass and beautiful design and colours. Just like the premise on which the device comes, the brand took a bold and extraordinary step out of their known forte, debuting in the high-end market.
Of course, TECNO had to make a great and interesting statement to herald, not just the device, but their entrance into that tier of the market. And what better way to do that than with an exquisite launch event.
D’banj
For a good and extraordinary device, the brand rightly invited celebrities who are and have had good and extraordinary careers, to the launch. D’banj, 2Baba, Bovi, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Linda Ikeji, Mercy Johnson, Tobi Bakre, amongst others, were each sent an invite box that contained the device so that they all could experience it first hand before the launch.
Mercy Johnson
The launch held at the Hardrock Café in the cool of the evening on the 1st of July. The cosy and exclusivity of that location ran up several notches as TECNO switched things up with elegant deco right from the entrance.
2Baba
Things got even more interesting as our favourite celebrities came one after the other. One thing was clear, they all came to have fun. Each of them stepped into the event with relaxed, open smiles.

Frank Edoho
Presided by the Maestro Frank Edoho as the MC of the day, the launch itself was definitely a memorable one, ensuring a wonderful evening for the guests. There was an interesting orchestra that performed live throughout the event, a beautiful ballet dance show, and not to mention the hottest reception that the celebrities and guests were entertained with.
TECNO really did go all out to set the tone for PHANTOM X right.
