President Buhari Condoles With Sound Sultan’s Family Members

President Buhari has shown regrets over the death of  Nigerian singer and songwriter, Olanrewaju Fasasi, popularly known as Sound Sultan.

The singer died on Sunday, July 11 after wrestling with cancer. He was 44 years old.

In a statement shared by presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, the President stated that Sound Sultan’s death was not only a minus to the Nigerian music industry, but to the country as a whole.

“As a celebrated rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, he lived an exemplary life, achieved several milestones in his career and contributed greatly to the development of the Nigerian music and entertainment industry through his artistic genius, creativity and talent, which have inspired many young Nigerians in the industry”. The statement in part read

The President confirmed that the singer was kind, benevolent, and so interested in issues in the country, which showed in his music and art, and as an avid basketball fan, he made telling support to the growth of local basketball in the country.

The President prayed for the eternal rest of the soul and supernatural harmony for the family, friends and well-wishers.
