Queen Elizabeth II is set to call time on her royal duties and administrative control of the United kingdom to hand reigns over to Prince Charles of Wales.
Source close to the Royal Family told the UK’s Express that the Queen has given her retirement plans a serious thought and may move to step down over the next 18 months.
According to the source, “the Queen is mindful of her age and wants to make sure that the transition of power is seamless when the time comes.”
The 93-year old monarch is reportedly weighing to follow in the footstep of her husband Prince Philip, to step down on her 95th birthday.
The longest-serving leader will still retain her title as queen but will relinquish the day-to-day running of the Royal family to Prince Charles.
