Property Guru and CEO Purple Premium Ltd, London, Richard Ejiro Obahor who recently bagged the Leadership Award at BEFTTA 2016 (Europe’s biggest award ceremony for Black Minority Ethnic Minority) has won another prestigious award in U.K., the coveted GAB Awards (Gathering of Africa’s Best Awards) at the 18th annual edition of the award ceremony which took place on Sunday 27th November 2016 at Hilton London Canary Wharf.
Richard was bestowed with this prestigious award for his contributions to the promotion of the positive image of Africa and Africans through Property Services.
The Gathering of Africa’s Best (GAB) Awards – an event founded in 1999 by The Trumpet newspaper (Britain’s largest distributed Black newspaper) showcases Africa’s Best and rewards excellence among Africans in the Continent and in the Diaspora.
Richard Obahor said, “It is fundamental as Africans proffering services in this, or any other market place, that we raise our standards very high – at par or even higher than our Caucasian contemporaries. I see countless number of times, how some African businesses provide sub-standard services because they hold the view that they are only just serving Africans so there is no need to expend resources investing in systems that will enable them to provide better services. I strongly believe that this is wrong; the fact that we are Africans should not translate to us offering and accepting less.
Business dynamics have changed significantly over the years; a local business might have an audience in Far East Asia unbeknownst to them. On the basis of that, let us pursue excellence as though it were going out of fashion, we should perform as though we were on a platform in front of the panellists of Britain’s Got Talent, because now more than ever the entire world is watching, (Simon Cowell could be watching) and I’m definitely sure that GAB is watching”.
