‘October 1‘ private screening took place at the Intercontinental Hotel Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday the 18th of May 2014. Before the screening, Kunle Afolayan intentionaly announced the event encouraging sponsors to come forward. Now this is one Nollywood movie sponsors should rush to because it will not only deliver, it is a movie that relates to Nigerian history which the younger genaration will look up to.

Kunle Afolayan expressed his feeling about the turnout of the movie on his facebook wall yesterday saying “Yesterday 18th May marks a new beginning in my career as a filmmaker as the Exclusive private screening of October 1 put together by Golden Effects and Terra kulture was a success. Am using this medium to say a big thank you to All the cast and crew of October 1 for such a wonderful job, Our current sponsors for believing in us, Terra kulture for joining the winning team, All the invited guest from the corporate world and personal friends, My mentor (TK), Uncle Mahmood, Bros RMD and the entire Golden Effects team ie Fidoh, Tokunbo, Lanre, Taiwo, Lekan, Petter. Watch out for the press screening and eventually the Premiere/Theatrical release. Ire”.

We have always known Kunle Afolayan for his excellent movies which includes, ‘The Figurine’ and ‘Phone Swap’, “If you haven’t seen any of these, definitely check them out”. There is no doubt he has obviously taken Nollywood into another level with this last movie, Kudo to him and his team once again for a job well done.
