Key honoree of this 2nd edition is Amanda Foster, acknowledged as the UK’s first black British stuntwoman and owner of an incredibly vibrant, diverse and robust 25 year career involving nearly 100 major film and TV productions. Amanda will be officially inducted into the Screen Nation Hall of Fame at the prestigious home of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, 195 Piccadilly.
In recognition of Amanda’s impact on film industry diversity a first of its kind Introductory Stunts Workshop entitled ACCESS ACTION is being held prior to the induction aimed at increasing BAME participation in the craft and featuring some of the UK’s top stunt performers.
The workshop features hugely experienced award-winning stunt performers, coordinators & action directors, including top BAFTA nominated stunt performers from The British Stunt Register, the leading industry association along with multi award winning speakers from some of the industries top stunt training establishments including ex-forces led Bare Arms Films, covering Weapons performance the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat covering hand and weapon Fighting plus top performers covering disciplines as diverse as Falling, Driving, Climbing, Water work, Horse Riding, Flamework and more.
Special guest speaker is Marvin Campbell, the world record holding Taurus award Stunt Oscar’s winner and one of the world’s greatest stuntmen, responsible in part for the iconic Casino Royale action sequence. Also featured on the day is Shaina West aka The Samurider one of the UK’s most exciting young self-taught action artistes and emerging stunt performers, who’s incredible inspirational story has seen her rise from near death adversity to action heroine in less than a year.
