On Saturday, July 20th, Timi Dakolo whose wife Busola, recently accused COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo of raping her when she was a teenager, raised an alarm on his Instagram page. He shared a picture of a white van and said strange men with guns are currently keeping watch in front of his house.
His supporters advised him to call the police. Sharing an update, he said they are police officers sent to deliver a letter of ‘invitation for questioning’ to him and his wife, Busola over the rape allegations.
According to him, ‘sending a busload of armed policemen and shady men lying in wait to intimidate my wife and children today, forcing their way into my home? Is that how the REAL police deliver a letter? This is the best you can do? This is why all the hurting women and families haven’t come against you?’.
On a note he shared on his Instagram, he said;
A pastor? Bribing investigating officials to delay summons? Paying dirty bloggers to fabricate things that cover the truth, going to the IG’s people under dark to force this case to be posted to Abuja? Now this an investigation in Abuja, when you haven’t answered to the rape case against you in Lagos? Rubbishing the legal and criminal system?
He made it clear he is prepared for the case and will fight for his wife and children
The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Timi Dakolo called were right on time to stop Timi Dakolo and his wife, Busola from being taken by armed policemen to Abuja over allegations of criminal conspiracy, falsehood, mischief and threat to life.
The popular singer shared the letter of ‘invitation for questioning’ which according to him, came after Pastor Fatoyinbo allegedly bribed investigating officials to delay summons, and also pushed for the case to be transferred to Abuja.
However, the armed policemen were stopped from taking away the singer and his wife by RRS officers. End SARS campaigner, Segun Awosanya tweeted that the policemen sent to “abduct” Timi Dakolo and Busola, are now under investigation. See his tweets;
Frank Mba, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, recently took to social media to confirmed that its operatives served official Invitation letters on Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo and his wife, Busola Dakolo yesterday Saturday, July 20th July.
According to a statement released by Mba, the invitation is a sequel to an on-going police investigation into the rape scandal involving Busola Dakolo, COZA senior pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo and others.
Mba appealed for calm and reassured Nigerians that the Police Force under the watch of the Inspector General of Police Adamu Mohammed, will remain professional, impartial and unreservedly committed to the pursuit of justice in this case and all other cases before it.
For fear of a possible attack by the men, Timi vowed to fight for his wife and his children. Knowing that there is a possibility justice will be tampered with
He wrote
‘I will fight for my wife and my children -it’s the promise I made with my life and one I intend to keep .I will defend them from the unrelenting attack of a weak man who thinks he can use money and power to cover for all of his crimes.’
No news about any arrest or police visiting the Fatoyinbo’s yet. And no update has been published on the COZA social media platforms.
