American singer, Usher, age 40 has filed for divorce from his wife of three years Grace Miguel. The ‘Let it born’ singer been estranged for months but have now officially started divorce proceedings.
Court records obtained by The Blast show that Usher filed divorce papers in Georgia and that he is being represented by the same lawyer that worked on the end of his marriage with Tameka Foster.
In a joint statement released earlier this year, Usher and Grace announced their separation.
The pair said: “After much thought and consideration we have mutually decided to separate as a couple. We remain deeply connected, loving friends who will continue supporting each other through the next phases of our lives. The enormous amount of love and respect that we have for each other will only increase as we move forward.”
The pair, who began their relationship in 2009, married out of the public eye in 2015 and have kept their almost decade-long relationship mostly private over the years.
In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, after he was spotted wearing a wedding band, Usher confirmed the marriage.
News of their divorce comes a year after the iconic singer was accused by three people of putting them at risk of contracting herpes.
The case against Usher was dropped after phone call audio evidence revealed one of the female accusers admitted to using protection during her relationship with the Confessions singer.
