It was a heartbreaking moment as Nollywood actor Murphy Afolabi began his journey home. The actor, aged 49, lost his life on Sunday, May 14, 2023, after he reportedly slipped on bathroom tiles and hit his head on a hard surface.
Nollywood stars declared Sunday a black day because the movie industry lost two actors. Many took to their timelines to share dark images to mourn the death of Murphy Afolabi.
Actor Murphy Afolabi’s death came as a shock to many, as the actor recently marked his 49th birthday on the 5th of May. Reports by Seun Oloketuyi claimed the actor lost his life after slipping on bathroom tiles.
Nollywood artistes, including Adeniyi Johnson, Papa Show, Biola Bayo, Damola Olatunjji, Sam Olatunji, Yinka Solomon, Mercy Aigbe, Kemi Korede, and a host of others, mourned their colleagues’ deaths on social media.
Videos that emerged online captured the moment the actor’s corpse was transported in a coffin to Ikorodu, where he would be finally committed to Mother Earth.
Recall that earlier today, Murphy Afolabi’s burial plans were altered from the previous ones, where he was supposed to be buried in Osogbo, Osun State.
