Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markel shows reluctance to shares photos of her kids with the British press.

As an active member of the British royal family, it is expected of the Duchess of Sussex to release pictures of her 3-year-old son, Archie, to the press pool that covers Queen Elizabeth II and the royal family, Royal Rota.

Meghan Markel together with Prince Harry have two children at present, Archie and Lilibet.

Having in mind the existing contentious relationship with the royal family and the British press, Meghan explained why the couple have decided not to share photos of their children with the British press. She also explains how they broke away from the process of going through the royal family in order to publicly share those photos themselves in an interview with The Cut

She explains –“There’s literally a structure,”

Meghan Markel asks rhetorically…

“Why would I give the very people that are calling my children the N-word a photo of my children before I can share with the people that love my children?”

“You tell me how that makes sense and then I’ll play that game.”

The duchess, however, reveals she and her husband, Prince Harry, have no control over the @KensingtonRoyal Instagram account, which they shared with Prince William and Kate Middleton initially.

A month before Archie was born, the royal couple had launched their own Instagram handle, @sussexroyal, where they refused to play the “exchange game.” Instead, independently made their news and even posted photos that sometimes never got to the Royal Rota. However, they shut down the account after making known their intentions to step back as senior members of the royal to become “more financially independent”. This was a constraint on their use of “royal” in their branding.

Markle announces her stay away from social media due to constant bullying from trolls.

Markle became the duchess of Sussex when she was joined in Holy Matrimony with Prince Harry in May 2018 at Windsor Castle. The couple welcomed their first son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor in 2019 and the second child, a girl, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor in 4 June 2021
