Popular Ghanian writer, Waterz Yidana, has condemned Nollywood actress Ini Edo’s choice to use surrogacy to start a family. In the author’s opinion, the actress committed a blunder.
The child will pass through lots of psychological issues without knowing her father.
“My only problem is that Ini Edo has created a big problem for this innocent baby when she grows up to understand how things work in life”. He wrote.
He further emphasized that the action of the actress should not be accepted in the community because of its dire consequences.
Yidana condemned the Nollywood star’s choice and explained that her action should not be followed in our midst.
The writer insisted he is not against Ini Edo having her baby using the surrogacy method, though her choice of allowing a random or an anonymous “donor sp*rm” is his headache.
Listing some questions that Ini and her friends may not have asked, the Ghanaian writer stated that her daughter would grow up to ask them.
“who is the baby’s father? Where is he? From which family background? Is he a Ghanaian, Nigerian or a South African? What is his identity? Who is her surrogate mother? Where is she? The woman that suffered to carry her nine months in her womb!…”
Noting that people have children through surrogacy for various reasons, Yidana, however, asserted that Ini’s baby would go through a lot of psychological problems and mental tortures looking for who her father is and the woman that carried her.
