A top aide of President Muhammadu Buhari has cautioned controversial singer Zlantan Ibile over his carefree attitude towards the country’s fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Zlantan Ibile has been called out by Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant to President Buhari on New Media, for his post on social media that made light of the coronavirus outbreak in Nigeria.
Bashir Ahmad took to his Twitter page
on Monday, April 20, 2020, where he criticized the music star for reacting to the latest report of confirmed coronavirus cases released by the NCDC on Sunday with laughing emojis.
However, his tweet was met with mixed reactions from Nigerians which caused the civil servant to address the issue once again on the micro blogging platform.
I can see some people are angry with my reply to Zlatan’s tweet, which he made a joke out of NCDC’s last night update on #COVID19Nigeria. I didn’t reply him as Zlatan, I replied him as a celebrity, who has hundreds of followers. Again, ‘this whole #COVID19 issue is not a joke.’ pic.twitter.com/qgA8aI2gdB

On Sunday, April 19, 2020, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed 86 new cases of coronavirus bringing the country’s total number to 627.
This comes barley a week after Zlantan took to social media to affirm his unbelief towards the existence of the coronavirus.
