Nollywood actress, Carolyna Hutchings (formerly known as Carolyna Danjuma), and celebrity stylist, Toyin Lawani, have engaged in a messy Twitter ‘battle’ as the duo trolled each other over their past relationships.

The two women, who are co-stars in the reality TV show, Real Housewives of Lagos, brought their beef from the show to Twitter streets on Saturday.

Toyin Lawani was born into the Lawani family of Ekiti State in the South West of Nigeria on the 1st of March 1982 to her father, Yisa Lawani a former commissioner of Police and her mother, Princess Atinuke Babalola, a serial entrepreneur (also royalty).
Toyin’s grandfather was Pa Elijah Are Babalola, who was the first Minister of Works in the Western Region and her grandmother was Chief Justice E.A. Babalola and also the Adele Oba of Ikole Ekiti.
She attended Ebire Nursery and Primary School in Ibadan, Oyo State and in 1992 she was admitted into the prestigious St John’s College in Lagos. Having passed the West African Examination Council and is named as the overall best student in food and nutrition in her final year. She was admitted to study English at the University of Lagos in 1998. As a student of the University of Lagos, she also enrolled at the Opral Benson training institute, a decision that helped pinpoint her lifelong career path. Toyin is a graduate of English Language from the University of Lagos.
At the age of 16, her business career kicked off; and it began with the trading of clothes, shoes, bags, hair attachments to her fellow mates in the University. She sold her items and wares in a boutique, located in Hall 36- of her university accommodation, but within months, the boutique expanded to include a supermarket and a hair braiding salon.

It started when Carolyna accused Toyin of spreading rumours about her (Carolyna’s) marriage with billionaire, Musa Danjuma which ended in 2016.

Carolyna called out Toyin, saying, “Toyin, make it make sense to me. How do you know what ended my marriage when my marriage ended in 2016 and I stopped speaking with you in 2009?

Carolyna Hutchings, known previously as Caroline Danjuma and Caroline Ekanem, is a Nigerian actress. She made her screen debut in 2004, starring in some of Chico Ejiro’s popular films. After a hiatus from the film industry, she made a comeback in 2016, producing and starring in the romantic thriller Stalker.

Caroline was born to a Scottish father and a Nigerian mother. She is the first of three children. She studied environmental protection management, geography and regional planning at the University of Calabar. She also obtained a certificate of achievement in organisational behaviour from Edinburgh Business School in 2016.

Chico Ejiro, through Rita Dominic, introduced Danjuma to the Nigerian film industry in the 2004 film Deadly Care. She starred in other successful films, including Deadly Kiss (2004), Missing Angel (2004), The Captor (2006), Foreign Affairs, Real Love, The Twist, A Second Time and The Beast and the Angel. Her latest film is Stalker, co-starring Jim Iyke and Nse Ikpe Etim. In August 2017, she was honoured for her advocacy programs centred around building capacities for Nigerian youths by a Pan-African organization.

Danjuma was less frequent in Nollywood after her marriage to Musa Danjuma, the younger brother of Theophilus Danjuma in 2007. The couple has two sons and a daughter; they separated in 2016.

Although many local publications cite her birth year as between 1980 and 1981, Danjuma has repeatedly stated that she was born on 26 June 1987.
