The breakdown of Perry’s wealth indicates that he has $320M for his entire library of movies, TV shows, plays, etc., as he owns 100% of the content he’s created.

Perry also has $300million in cash and investments, a $60million equity stake in BET+ and $40million in homes and toys, according to the outlet.

Speaking to Forbes, the Acrimony producer said he was once ‘poor as hell’ and homeless, dropped out of high school and struggled a lot in life before his career catapulted him to stardom. He is the first African American to independently own a studio.

The Tyler Perry Studios, which sits on 330 acres in Georgia, is worth $280M – and is now the most prolific production location for black audiences.

The 50-year old producer is the brain behind some of America’s most popular movies.
