Melania Trump earlier today, Tuesday, October 2nd arrived Ghana for her first solo trip outside the US. She plans to visit four African Countries in the span of a week.
Melania was Received by Ghana’s First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo. She was also welcomed with local music and dance. Schoolchildren were in attendance were seen waving mini U.S. and Ghanaian flags.
Minutes after her arrival, the U.S first lady spoke with young child as she hands out teddy bears and Be Best-themed blankets donated by the White House to young children and their mothers at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital in Accra.
She’ll be visiting Ghana’s neonatal intensive care unit, and then meet President Nana Akufo-Addo. Melania will be spending five days in Africa, visiting Ghana, Malawi, Kenya and Egypt.
She first made the announcement in August, stating that she is visiting the African continent to learn about “issues facing children” and its “rich culture and history”.
