United Souls more than just a brand, a human and artistic approach launched in September 2015, the United Souls brand project has taken off-getting good press in articles from Kaporal jeans andElle Magazine.
Jacques Goba is the founder and Art director. The young urban professional originating from the Ivory Coast and has been involved in various collective organisations for manyyears. “I wanted to create a unifying project which held real meaning; using the support of a t-shirt brand seemed the best concept”. He said.
More than just about selling t-shirts, United Souls aims to involve the citizens of the world in a humanist approach. Their philosophy is to spread a unifying message about the duty of remembering African intellectuals who have been committed to defending civil rights in Africa and the rest of the world.
To reach this goal, Founder Jacques Goba, calls upon talented artists who are inspired by the person we have chosen, to create a special illustration for the brand.
Using the image as a source of resistance, United Souls team are opening a thought process on the role of intellectual leaders, be them politicians, activists or musicians, who have shaped our human history; giving people the opportunity to proudly wear a message embodying the struggle for emancipation.
United Souls offers you a design created by Joy Hanoun who firmly upholds her humanist and non-violent values. And of course, loyal to our tradition of a musical tribute, the team got together with Bon-Ton Roulay (Kalakuta Productions and founder of Soul Rhythms – Vinyl Shop) to give our fans a taste of 70s Ghanaian tunes from his vast record collection (you can hear the crackling of the vinyl and just imagine digging in dusty crates in a little music shop in Africa!), in particular the Highlife style, from the smoothest songs to pure funk.
