After Nigeria’s defeat to Ivory Coast in the AFCON finals, Iwobi came under heavy fire, prompting this action.
Following the loss, Alex Iwobi was the subject of a barrage of criticism on social media, which led several celebrates to defend the player.
Expressing their discontent with the online harassment, these figures urged critics to cease attacking Iwobi and instead show support for the entire team.
Unfortunately, the relentless criticism took its toll on Alex Iwobi, prompting him to delete his Instagram account due to cyberbullying.
Surprisingly, the Super Eagles stars, including renowned players like Victor Osimhen, William Troost-Ekong, Samuel Chukwueze, and Joseph Ayodele-Aribo, have rallied together to stand by their teammates and condemn cyberbullying.
Through a collective message posted on their social media accounts, they emphasized the importance of unity within the team, regardless of victories or defeats.
“We win together. We lose together. We are all one. Some of our fans should do better. @alexanderiwobi,” the post read.
