The 10th edition of the Headies Award took place in Lagos, Nigeria last night. However, people are not talking about the event, everyone is talking about Olamide and Don Jazzy’s claw at each other, barely a day into 2016. Not long after the live TV clash over the SUV car for the winner of Next Rated Category, Olamide took to Twitter to bash Don Jazzyeven further. Here is the full story.
Reekado Banks, is under Mavin Records and beat; Lil Kesh, Korede Bello, Cynthia Morgan and Kiss Daniel to win The Next Rated Award for 2015. This obviously didn’t go well, Olamide spoke out for the YBNL team, who should have won the award. when his artist Adekunle Gold won the award for Best Alternative act for his song, Shade.
When on stage for his artist Adekunle Gold who won the award for Best Alternative act for ‘Shade”, Olamide used the oppurtunity to expressing his feelings
“This award belongs to Lil Kesh. Lil Kesh is our own Next Rated artist. F**k that shit! The streets ti take over. Every f**king single was a hit back to back. From lyrically to Shoki to Efejoku. Ko ni dafun Iya anybody”, trowing the mic down on stage and walks away with his group.
After Olamide’s speech, Don Jazzy won The Special Recognition Award & while taking his award, he addressed Olamide’s rant on stage.
“Egbon Olamide, if you want the car, come and take it.” Said Don Jazy.
These obviously set Olamide into rage and he took to twitter to bash Don Jazzy further.
