Beyonce’s fans are excited across the globe right now. This comes after Netflix US announced Beyonce history-making Coachella 2018 performance coming soon as a documentary.

Netflix confirmed the good news with a trailer for Homecoming, on April 9.

According to Netflix, “Homecoming presents an intimate look at Beyonce’s historic 2018 Coachella performance that paid homage to America’s historically black colleges and universities.

“Interspersed with candid footage and interviews detailing the preparation and powerful intent behind her vision, Homecoming traces the emotional road from creative concept to a cultural movement.”

The 37-year-old set up a scholarship fund after her performance, which was called Homecoming, so the documentary is very much connected to that.

The Homecoming Scholars Award Program pledged $25,000 for one student, chosen by Bey, at each of these four historically black colleges: Xavier, Wilberforce, Tuskegee and Bethune-Cookman. The $100,000 total donated by Beyonce was later matched by Google to include four more historically black universities.

Beyonce chose to start this fund as her performance at Coachella marked the first time a black woman had ever headlined the music festival. Her set paid tribute to African-American universities and education.

In 2013 Bey released an autobiographical TV special called, Life Is But A Dream, so this is her second documentary.
