This year and last year has been a great one for Nigerian superstar Davido who clinched 2 MTV EMA awards this year, “Best Worldwide Act” and “Best African Act” making hit 2 EMA Awards in one year.
He shared the news on his Instagram with the caption:
“OMG I JUST WON BEST WORLDWIDE ACT MTV EMA!!! I’m going madd!!!!! 2 EMA’s !! Whaaat!!! 🔥🔥🔥 !!
There is no doubt it has also been a difficult year for the super star who lost 3 of his best friend in one month, that was only just few months ago and was even blamed for Tagbo Umeike’s death among other trivial issues.
Davido is the only African artist to have released two music videos, with over 30 million YouTube view each in 2017.
Apart from being the first Nigerian to hit 1 million followers on Instagram, the singer gave us the best of Davido with hit song ‘IF‘ of which the video has reached over 50 million views on Youtube as of today. Followed by ‘FALL’, which were the biggest track of the year compared to his fellow Afrobeats musicians.
As of November 2017, Davido has received a total of 33 awards from 79 nominations, despite a hit single every year.
Now this boy might be a baddest boy in the game, but he is consistent with one thing, MUSIC and that makes him the biggest African Act of the year.
