Will the incoming Manchester United Coach wake the club up from its slumber; will he also ignore Ronaldo as rumored?

By the end of the current season, it is said that a new coach will be taking over the affairs of the Red Devils. Having been in a struggling condition for quite some time, the management of the Premier League side will be trying a new hand.

Erik Ten Hag is universally acknowledged as a master tactician who has an impressive record of building players from nothing to superstars.  According to “The Star,” the incoming Manchester United manager has informed the club that veteran forward, Cristiano Ronaldo will not be part of his team at Old Trafford next season.

He is said to have agreed a deal in principle to take over as permanent manager at Old Trafford this summer with major changes expected at the club.

While people argue that it’s impossible for him not to want the services of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, we have to consider the mindset of the dutchman. This is a man known for believing that apart from tactics, the agility of young players is necessary.

Also, former Manchester City right-back, Danny Mills, has said that Ronaldo, Paul Pogba, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic could leave the Red Devils at the end of the season.

Speaking on players that will leave Man United this summer, Mills told Football Insider that there is no point in making Ronaldo a part of the rebuilding process at Man United as Erik Ten Hag will take over from Ralf Rangnick.

Ten Hag has done incredible things at Ajax Amsterdam, and the authority he wields in the field of strategizing might yet be what the English team needs to do well. The various inclinations of other coaches in reviving the former glory of the club seem to have failed, and the dutchman’s model would likely solve the situation, seeing that the English Champions, Manchester City, are using the same.

Yes, there’s a high possibility that he would want Ronaldo to leave!

But at 37, the football legend seems to be banging goals, and still unarguably among the top three strikers still playing the game. There’s a magic to him, just like we saw in the last Man United match where he scored the only goal against Arsenal. Bruno Fernandes also missed a penalty he would have allowed Ronaldo to take, and the importance of the Portuguese was once established – he has the best record in penalties.

If the incoming coach is wise enough, he would integrate the superstar into his squad.

However, with Manchester United heading towards a fifth consecutive season without a trophy and losing out in the Champions League qualification, Ronaldo is said to be considering his future. For a man who has always stated that he’s not done winning trophies, there’s every possibility that he’ll be the one to quit the club, even though he has an extra year with them.

Remember how he left Real Madrid when he started hearing some rumors? The Los Blancos are still regretting the things they would have won with him, and have only recently done well in the Champions League since he left Santiago Bernabeu.

There may be no need for him to ignore Ronaldo. With Manchester United being unsure of playing in the next Champions League tournament despite over 22 goals from the striker, the King who is universally regarded as the most successful player in the tournament’s history, might be the one to dump the club.

Lewandowski is currently the leading striker in the world, yet he’s 33. Most top clubs are looking for him because he’s not showing any signs of slowing down. I believe it will be Ten Hag’s loss, if Ronaldo leaves before his arrival.
