Today, Thursday, July 16, 2020, marks the 30th birthday of Nigerian superstar Ayo Balogun aka Wizkid aka Starboy.
Wizkid’s birthday has got him dominating social media trends since Wednesday and it is a very happy moment for the much-loved singer.
As part of the activities to mark the special occasion, several colleagues in the music industry took out time to celebrate the singer and also appreciate him for his impact in putting African and Nigerian music on the global stage.

Wizkid burst onto the music scene in 2008 with the bubbling single, ‘Mamiwata’. He later signed to Banky W ‘s EME record label in 2009 which marked the beginning of the rise of the star he is today.
His contributions to the Nigerian music industry have earned him several domestic and international accolades, with the latest coming at the 20th edition of the BET Awards where he won the BET Her Award for his collaboration with Beyonce on the critically-acclaimed single, ‘Brown Skin Girl’.
