Prominent Nigerian singer Yemi Alade has become the latest celebrity to demand that the government adopt a transparent policy in the disbursement of the Covid-19 relief fund.
Yemi Alade has called on Muhammadu Buhari‘s led administration to give account of how it has impacted the lives of the general public with the billions of Naira donated by well-meaning Nigerians and corporate organisations to help cushion the effect the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
On Monday, April 20, 2020, the music diva went on a series of rants via her Twitter page where she launched a heavy attack on both the federal and Lagos State Government.
In her posts, Yemi Alade was critical of those in authority over the secret approach adopted in the allocation and distribution of covid-19 relief fund.

She also question the governor of Lagos state about the manner and approach his government has been able to help its citizens reduce the financial blow of the lockdown order.
The self-acclaimed Woman of Steel went on to task the state governor to use the BVN of residents to credit their accounts with funds.

Yemi Alade’s posts comes few weeks after President Muhammadu Buhari had announced a ₦10 billion relief fund for Lagos which is the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases In Nigeria now stands at six hundred and twenty-seven as of April 19.
