And there you have it, folks! The three-time African champions have secured their spot in the continental competition with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Sierra Leone at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium in Monrovia, Liberia, on Sunday evening. What a game!

And it’s a stoppage-time tap-in from Kelechi Iheanacho that seals the deal! What a match we’ve had here, folks. The Super Eagles may have surrendered a two-goal lead, but they never gave up. And in the end, it was Iheanacho who came through with the most important goal of the game.

And here we have Jose Peseiro making a bold move by starting the match with the attacking trio of the in-form Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, and Moses Simon. Let’s see how this decision plays out on the pitch.

And there you have it folks, the coach seems to have a preference for the backline pairing of Kenneth Omeruo and Semilore Ajayi over Willam Troost-Ekong who has been benched.

And the Eagles come out with a strong showing right from the get-go! They’re clearly showing their intent early on in this one. And there’s the header from Osimhen! But it’s stopped by none other than Ibrahim Sesay, Sierra Leone’s custodian!

And just moments later, Chukwueze takes the shot from the edge of the box, but it goes high and wide. He had a great opportunity there, but just couldn’t quite find the target. And he scuffs the bigger opportunity! Osimhen with a brilliant wrestle of the ball off the defender, setting up a face-to-face with Sesay, but unfortunately, the shot falls short.

And there it is, folks! Nigeria’s early pressure has finally paid off! Osimhen with a brilliant move, pouncing on that long ball and executing a perfect lob over Sesay, who was left helpless as the ball sailed into the empty net. What a goal!

And there it is folks! The Napoli striker has just doubled the lead in the 32nd minute, courtesy of a beautiful pass by Joe Aribo that sent him through on goal. What a play!

And there it is folks! Osimhen with a seemingly weak shot, but it gets the job done as it trickles through Sesay’s legs. Goal!

And there it is, folks! Osimhen has just scored his 17th goal for the Super Eagles, surpassing the likes of Ahmed Musa and Odion Ighalo to claim the sixth spot on the team’s all-time scorers list. What a feat for this talented player!

And the Eagles ease up on the gas, allowing their opponents to capitalise just before halftime. And there goes Mustapha Bundu with a powerful and lightning-quick shot that just breezes past Adebayo Adeleye, the Nigerian custodian.

And the Leone Stars are really putting the pressure on Nigeria here, folks! They’re turning the screws and pushing hard for that much-needed equaliser as the game wears on.

And there it is folks, their second goal of the game! Augustus Kargbo with a powerful piledriver from the edge of the goal area in the 84th minute. What a shot!

And just when it seemed like the game was destined for a draw, Saidu Sanusi delivered a moment of sheer brilliance! And he’s weaving his way through the Sierra Leonean defence, folks! A beautiful display of dribbling skills! And he sets up Iheanacho with a simple tap-in! Goal!

And there it is, folks! Nigeria has secured their spot at the AFCON scheduled for Ivory Coast next year. What a win!
