The viral story of Amy Cooper, a White woman who called 911 to claim an African American man was threatening her life has been fired from her place of work after the video went viral.

Christian Cooper, an African American man who captured the moment a Caucasian woman made a 911 call and pretended to be in distress while lying that “an African American man” is threatening her life.
Ms Cooper was at the famous Ramble in New York’s Central Park when she took her dog off the leash, an act that is clearly against the rules to protect the birds from dogs.
Christian Cooper who is “an avid birder” politely asked her to put her dog back on the leash but she refused.
When the man began filming her, she confronted him and asked him to stop. He told her he would stop when she complies and puts her dog on the leash.
Rather than obey the park rules, the woman told him that she would call the cops and tell them that he’s threatening her.
She said: “I’m going to tell them that there’s an African American man threatening my life.”
She took her phone, dialled 911, and told the cops just that. But she didn’t stop there. She pretended like she was in distress and begged them to send the police immediately. While at it, she was strangling her dog, making the animal scream as though they were under attack.
She took her acting further by crying and begging for help as though her life was indeed in danger.
The video was shared online by Melody Cooper, a sister to the African American man, and it went viral. Melody Cooper herself is a science fiction, and horror writer who has worked at CW and HBO shared it on Twitter.
While her brother the victim of racial abuse is a 57-year-old who worked at Marvel Comics for nine years as a Freelance writer (from 1991 to 1999) and as an associate editor, edited “Blade: The Vampire Hunter” and briefly, “The Punisher”. He created and wrote “Darkhold: Pages from the Book of Sins” and “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy,” according to his LinkedIn page.
Amy Cooper, the lady with the dog, is the Head of Insurance Investment Solutions at Franklin Templeton, was fired one day after the May 25th incident in New York’s Central Park, after she was placed on administrative leave.
After the story went viral, she decided to apologize, saying that she is not a racist and meant no harm. She told CNN she wanted to “publicly apologize to everyone.”
“I think I was just scared,” Amy Cooper said. “When you’re alone in the Ramble, you don’t know what’s happening. It’s not excusable, it’s not defensible.”
She told CNN that since the video was posted, her “entire life is being destroyed right now.”
Also, while speaking to NBC New York, she said: “I sincerely and humbly apologize to everyone, especially to that man, his family.”
“It was unacceptable, and I humbly and fully apologize to everyone who’s seen that video, everyone that’s been offended … everyone who thinks of me in a lower light and I understand why they do.
“When I think about the police, I’m such a blessed person. I’ve come to realize especially today that I think of [the police] as a protection agency, and unfortunately, this has caused me to realize that there are so many people in this country that don’t have that luxury.”
Asked if he’d accept her apology, Christian Cooper told CNN he would “if it’s genuine and if she plans on keeping her dog on a leash in the Ramble going forward, then we have no issues with each other.”
Amy’s dog has been taken from her. In the video, she was seen choking her dog while she was calling the cops on Christian. People called for the dog to be taken from her and Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue Inc responded to reveal that Amy has “voluntarily surrendered the dog” while the matter is being addressed.
Franklin Templeton Her workplace have also dismissed her, writing on Twitter: “Following our internal review of the incident in Central Park yesterday, we have made the decision to terminate the employee involved, effective immediately. We do not tolerate racism of any kind at Franklin Templeton.” A critical decision made hours after the company issued a statement to reveal Amy Cooper has been placed on administrative leave after she called 911 to falsely claim that Christian Cooper, an African American man, was threatening her life.
