BEFFTA 2013 Press Conference and Nominations night took place on the 25th of September 2013 at Mayfair, London. The event venue was packed with nominees who were anxious and waiting for the results. It was a fantastic night at the bar with networking, drinks and canapes. DJ Deoba Authentic performed, giving the excited guess a little of what he knows best, followed by an acapella performance by Roshan before the announcement of nominees.
BEFFTA founder Pauline Long, gave an inspiring speech, confidently confessing how she funded the first BEFFTA Awards to raise money for poor children in Africa and Kenya, her home town. “I am still the one single handedly funding BEFFFA“, she said “My inspiration to hold this now prestigious award ceremony was to bring together known and unknown talents and celebrate them and their hard work within the African and Caribbean entertainment industries“, she added.
Nominees for the night includes, Theodora Ibekwe (Best Producer), Edee Beau (Best make-up Artist), Moe Logo (Best UK Afrobeats Artist) and much more.
